What is CYL?

​VCD will participate in the CYL program starting in September and will go until the last Saturday in October. CYL is a middle school (or younger) league consisting of multiple clubs that give athletes a more competitive opportunity to compete before the club season begins. We highly recommend participating in CYL if you plan to play club for us during the 2024-2025 season as it gives the girls a chance to play together before the season starts. Although we will have our club girls play together, anyone is welcome to try out for a team! The program is for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders; 5th graders may also try out but would have to play on a 6th-8th grade team. High school athletes are NOT allowed to play regardless of age. The fee is $475 per player regardless of participating Club and will be paid when registered (we will provide as many teams as needed). All players will receive a t-shirt. 

What the program offers: Starting the second week in September, we will offer two practices a week throughout the season (posted on our calendar). Each Saturday in October and one Saturday in September, teams will participate in tournaments that are held at one of the Club facilities. Each tournament will start promptly at 8:00 am. All games should conclude around noon. On the final Saturday and Sunday, the teams will compete in an end-of-the-season tournament.

Tryouts for all ages will be on August 22nd from 6-7:30 pm. Only athletes who are not playing club for us are required to tryout, but everyone is more than welcome to come.
